Wilton and Shelley Stone met later in life and knew what they wanted in a future marriage.
We dated for six months before getting engaged and married six months later in front of a small gathering of family and friends. We found out three years later that we were expecting our little pebble of a daughter. The pregnancy was difficult and resulted in Madi being born almost four weeks early. We knew we wanted to have another child, but due to the difficulties with our daughter's birth and our age we were not able to have any more biological children.
In the fall of 2023, we were presented with the possibility of a kinship adoption that we considered, but that situation never developed. Afterwards, we prayed about if adoption was our path to having another child. The result of that path was the acceptance that God wanted us to adopt and we started our journey as potential adoptive parents.
